The story of Persephone:

When Demeter discovered that her daughter, Persephone had disappeared, she searched for her all over the earth, until at length she discovered the place of her abode. Her anger at the abduction obliged Zeus to request Hades to send Persephone back. Hades indeed complied with the request, but first gave her a pomegranate seed to eat, whereby she became obligated to the lower world, and an agreement was made that Persephone would spend one half of every year in the underworld with Hades, and the remaining half with the gods above.

The story of the Centaur:

Zeus made a cloud (Nephele) assume Hera's form in order to expose Ixion's lust for his wife. Ixion fell into the trap and mated with Nephele. From their union, Centaurus was born. In his turn, Centaurus mated with the Magnesian mares, and a race of half-horse half-man creatures was born.

The story of the Minotaur:

The Minotaur was a mythical creature with the head of a bull and the body of a man who was imprisoned in a dark underground labyrinth at Knossos on the Aegean island of Crete. The Minotaur was the offspring of Pasiphae, the wife of Minos, a snow-white bull was sent to Minos by the god Poseidon for sacrifice. Minos, instead of sacrificing the bull, kept it alive; Poseidon as a punishment made Pasiphae fall in love with the bull.
